In 2008, the approximate population of Broomfield, CO is 55,000 and considered the 16th most populous city in Colorado. Incorporated in 1961, Broomfield is a part of Boulder County and Broomfield county. Broomfield received its name from the broomcorn which is grown in the area. The major contributors to the Broomfield community is Sun Microsystems, which has recently been bought by Oracle. The Flatiron Crossing Mall is another larger attraction for the community with a combination indoor and outdoor mall that was built within the last 10 years. Broomfield also has an extensive outdoor trail system that connects various lakes and parks throughout the city. With the close proximity to Boulder and its Flatirons, it is a terrific area to enjoy the combination of the great outdoor lifestyle while still maintaining its city, suberb lifestyle of the Denver-Metro area. |
